About BBJ
ELSI, which stands for Ethical, Legal and Social Issues (or Implications), is a collective term that represents diverse issues arising in life science and medical research.
The ELSI Committee has been established to provide advice and recommendations from a standpoint independent from the operation of the BioBank Japan Project for Genomic and Clinical Research to ensure the proper operation of the Project.
BioBank Japan has established the ELSI Committee, which offers independent advice and recommendations, recognizing the significance of ethical, legal, and social issues n the operation of biobanks handling biological materials and data. The aim of the ELSI Committee is to provide advice and recommendations on the ELSI to ensure the proper operation of the BBJ Project.
